Setup Linksys EA6350 as Access Point:

Configuring Your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router to Bridge Mode is Appropriate when You Wish to:

  • Establish a connection between two (2) routers which possess the capability of distributing the network assets.
  • Utilize the router as an extra access point present in an existent network
  • Establish the connection of the router with the modem/router from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

NOTE: Configuring your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router to Bridge Mode will exhaust all its router functionalities and convert into a point of connection. The router will try to function as a DHCP server and its inbuilt firewall and NAT features will no longer be effective.

For Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers, the instructions below are only usable if they are utilizing the classic web-based installation page. If you possess Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, you can configure your router to Bridge Mode by adhering to the instructions here.

QUICK TIP: The Linksys Connect software features will be immobilized on the router once Bridge Mode is set up. If you have installed your router by utilizing the Linksys Connect software, you must reboot the router to its factory settings before configuring it to Bridge Mode. To do this, tap & hold the Reset button for 10 seconds by utilizing a pen or a paperclip. Then remove the router from the power outlet for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid.

Step 1 : Establish a connection between an Ethernet cable and your computer to any of the enumerated ports of the router possessing Bridge Mode capability. Do not link anything to the Internet port for time being.

Step 2 : Establish connect between one end of the power adapter of an electrical outlet and the other end with the Linksys router.

Step 3 : Open your web browser and type in your router’s IP address in the Address bar. Press [Enter]. The default IP address of a Linksys router 192.168.1.1 will appear on the screen.

Step 4 : There will be a command that will ask for the router’s username and password. Type in the router’s log-in specifications in the respective fields then press OK. Generally, the username and password is admin. In case of other router models, the username is left empty whereas the password is admin.

Step 5: When a warning window shows up, verify the Do not show me this again box and tap on OK.

Step 6 : You will then be taken to the router's web-based installation page. Under Internet Setup, configure the Internet Connection Type to Bridge Mode.

Step 7: Configure the Router Address to Specify an IP address and type in the applicable IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway for the Linksys router then tap on Save Settings.

Step 8 : Establish the connection of the main router to the Internet port of the Linksys router. Your setup should now be identical to the below image:
