How to setup Netgear N300 wireless router WNR2000?

I have a netgear wireless router and do not know how to set it up. I hooked it up correctly and my computer says that it's connected in "network connections." When it's hooked up I cannot load any pages in my web browser. My nintendo Wii found it as a wireless connection, asks for a password, which I have, then fails the connection test. -Do I have to set it up with my service provider, Verizon? How do I? -Do I need to somehow configure the router to my internet settings? I have no idea how to do any of this. It's a previously owned router, so do I need to change the name and password? I have the old one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
