Recently I purchased WNDR 3800 Netgear router. I have connected this router to my Dell laptop and it is working great. On the other hand, my brother's PC (Win 7 OS) is not connecting to Netgear router. I have checked all setting and everything is OK still Netgear router is not connecting to PC. Can anyone help me?
Well, if you have setup everything correctly then you are advised to check these additional troubleshooting steps -
1. If your Netgear router is not connecting to PC then check all physical connection, if you are connecting through the ethernet cable. If the ethernet cable is torn or frayed then replace with a new one.
2.Now check if you can log in to Netgear router wizard. If not then -
Check Internet LED is blinking or not. If not, then power off your Netgear router and turn back on after 2 minutes.
If still, you are unable to login to Netgear router then reset your router to default factory settings.
To perform a factory reset on Netgear router, gently press Reset button using a sharp object line pen or paperclip for 10 seconds. Now your Netgear router will reboot. When your Netgear router is reset to default settings, all LED will turn into green.
3. Still unable to access Netgear router Smart Wizard, then
Go to Netgear Online Test page and tap on Smart WizardTest button.
If you see this page then you have the internet connection.
4.Now navigate to router status and make sure your Netgear router has a valid IP address and not be 0.0.0.0.
5.Still having the issue, then perform power cycle on Netgear router. For this,
Switch off Netgear router and unplug from the modem. Leave Netgear router and modem unplugged for 2 minutes. Plug everything and then check your internet connection.
I hope, now your Netgear router will connect to PC. If not, please contact Netgear Router Technical Support Number.
