Answer:

Well, if you have setup everything correctly then you are advised to check these additional troubleshooting steps -

1. If your Netgear router is not connecting to PC then check all physical connection, if you are connecting through the ethernet cable. If the ethernet cable is torn or frayed then replace with a new one.

2.Now check if you can log in to Netgear router wizard. If not then -

Check Internet LED is blinking or not. If not, then power off your Netgear router and turn back on after 2 minutes.

If still, you are unable to login to Netgear router then reset your router to default factory settings.

To perform a factory reset on Netgear router, gently press Reset button using a sharp object line pen or paperclip for 10 seconds. Now your Netgear router will reboot. When your Netgear router is reset to default settings, all LED will turn into green.

3. Still unable to access Netgear router Smart Wizard, then

Go to Netgear Online Test page and tap on Smart WizardTest button.

If you see this page then you have the internet connection.

4.Now navigate to router status and make sure your Netgear router has a valid IP address and not be 0.0.0.0.

5.Still having the issue, then perform power cycle on Netgear router. For this,

Switch off Netgear router and unplug from the modem. Leave Netgear router and modem unplugged for 2 minutes. Plug everything and then check your internet connection.

I hope, now your Netgear router will connect to PC. If not, please contact Netgear Router Technical Support Number.

Going by your query the issue of your Netgear router not connecting to your computer could arise due to various reasons. Here, I will discuss different troubleshooting techniques to resolve the issue. So follow the instructions carefully to connect your Netgear router to your Windows PC.
How to troubleshoot Netgear Router connectivity issue?
1. Connect your Netgear Router to your computer using a cable connection: This is to verify whether the issue is with your computer or Netgear router. So connect your router to your computer using an ethernet cable. Connect one end of the cable into the LAN port of your Netgear router while the other end goes into your computer's ethernet port. Wait for few minutes to let the connection between your computer and Netgear router to establish. Now try opening a website, if you are able to access the internet through this wired connection then the issue is with your computer's wireless adapter.

2. Update your computer's wifi drivers: One of the reason for your computer to not able to connect to your Netgear router could be because of Wifi driver issues. So head to your vendor's website and update the Wifi driver to the latest available version and then try connecting again.
3. Update Firmware of both, your computer and Netgear router: Firmware contains encoded messages for your device which allow it to function properly. It also contains fixes for the issues with the previous version. So head over to the respective vendor's website of both your computer and Netgear router and download the latest available version of Firmware and then install it. Restart your system and see if the issue is resolved.

4 Use an external wifi adapter: If the updating of drivers does not resolve the issue, its best to attach an external Wifi adapter to your computer to help you connect to your Netgear router. So buy a new network adapter and install it on your computer and see if the issue is resolved.
