Reset Linksys Router to Factory Settings:

You should be able to access the router in your browser if it's connected.

You should know the ip address to type into your browser. Usually starts with 192.168.*.*

You'll get a box come up just type admin in the user name or password not sure which then hit enter.

Now you'll be in the router page. In one of the tabs for the configuration you will find somewhere where it gives you the option of resetting to factory default. The hole on the back of the router is just a reboot.

  1. Hold the reset button on the back panel of the Linksys router for 30 seconds. All your settings will be lost including WEP encryption information, MAC Address filtering information and any SSID information you have entered. The router password will revert to the default of Admin and all user name information will be removed.
  2. When you access the router utility to change the router settings from the default values be sure to leave the User name field blank and enter admin in the Password field.
