What is the linksys router's ip password?

Hi, Is there a difference between this password and the one that is prompted to you when accessing http://192.168.1.1/. I changed that password by going into Administration. But do I need to use my Setup Disc and change this IP password or is it the same thing?

Your router's password and your IP Password is basically the same thing. When you access https://192.168.1.1/ you are basically accessing your router. The username and password are generally set by the Internet Service Provider and in case he did not give any then the default username is "admin" and you can leave the password field blank and proceed to set up. Although your Wifi password is different from your router password as Wifi protection is to protect the network. Here we will discuss how to access your router settings to change the router as well as wifi password. Follow the instructions carefully:
Step 1: Connect your Linksys Router to your computer using an ethernet cable or a LAN cable. Connect one end of the cable to the LAN port of your router while the other end goes into your computer's ethernet port. Wait for few seconds to let the connection get established between the two.

Step 2: Open your browser and type in your IP address the one you have mentioned above in the URL field and hit Enter. This will redirect you to your router settings login page.

Step 3: Login to your account with your SSID and Password. Since you have mentioned that you have changed the administrative password, enter the new password and hit Enter.

Step 4: Now you are on the main page of your router, from here you can access and change all the necessary settings of your router.

Step 5: For your Wifi related issues, go to "Wireless Settings" > "Wireless Security" and change the security type to WPA2 as this is considered to be strongest and most complex to crack. Change the settings and save it before closing the Window.
Step 6: Restart your router to apply the necessary changes.

Hopefully, the given set of instructions helped you in finding the solution to the query you were looking for. If you have any issues or difficulty understanding any part of the given steps, kindly revert back with your query.
