Why My DLink Router is Losing Wires Connection?

I have a D-Link DIR-816 Wireless AC750 Dual Band Router. The problem is that it drops the wireless connection, but not the wired connection. When it drops the internet, I can not go back and scan for it. Please help me to resolve this issue as soon as possible as I need it urgent.

If your Dlink router is losing connections then try these things-

Update Router Firmware- Updating router firmware is a not so trivial task that varies depending on the router brand you happen to have. You have to download the latest firmware from their website, log into your router and then upload it to perform the update. To update the router firmware, it’s best to search your router model number + “firmware update” to find specific instructions.

Dlink Router Settings-

  •  Connect to the 2.4 GHz network if you’re currently connected to the 5 GHz one.
  • On the router, make sure the channel settings for the networks is set to Auto. If you have picked a particular channel for some reason, try a different channel.
  • Turn off extra security features like MAC address filtering, network isolation, and Wi-Fi Protected Setup. None of these really increase security all that much and end up causing more trouble.
  • Make sure your wireless network mode is set to Mixed. Sometimes picking a higher mode can cause problems with older devices.
  • If you don’t know anything about your router settings, try resetting your router completely by pressing the reset button. Configure wireless security and leave it at that.

Make sure Dlink is not overburdened by heavy network use- Some of you may be experiencing a Wi-Fi blackout when your network is being utilized the most (simultaneous streaming, downloading, large file transferring, online gaming, etc) which can cause routers to temporarily fail. Your router may be working fine but is just not the right match for your networking needs.

There should not any network interference- You router isn’t the only device in your house emitting a signal. Several household items like Bluetooth devices, microwaves, TVs and cordless phones are pumping out radio signals that can interfere with your Wi-Fi network signal when they are in use. Moving your router away from devices like these is an easy solution.
