Set Up a Google WiFi Mesh Router:

We all want excellent signal strength in every area of our house. Google Wi-Fi router is capable of providing us with the type of signal strength we want in every corner of our house.  Here in this post, you will learn how to set up Google Wi-Fi devices.

Google Wi-Fi router devices are identical, white in color, and cylindrical in shape. They connect to your modem and every Wi-Fi point is strategically located in different places at your home.

When you wirelessly connect these wireless devices to one another, they cover your entire home with wireless coverage. This way, the signal will reach every corner of your house.

Below are the simple steps that you need to carry out in order to set up your Google Wi-Fi mesh router.

A. Connections

Below are the simple steps that you need to perform before you begin the initial setup process.

Step 1: Select any Wi-Fi point and start with the process.

Step 2: Connect one end of the ethernet wire to your Wi-Fi point's internet port and the other end to the gateway unit or modem.

Step 3: Connect your power wire to the USB Type-C port.

Step 4: Now, take the other end and connect it to the electrical outlet.

Step 5: After that, a blue light will blink on your Googe Wi-Fi point once.

Step 6: and then your Google Wi-Fi router will be ready for the setup process.

B. Initial Setup Process

Carry out the steps below for the initial setup.

Step 1: Launch the Google Wi-Fi app on your smartphone.

Step 2: After that, you will be asked to tap on the option of Sign In. After that, you need to log into your Google account.

Step 3: Select the option of "Get Started" to begin with the setup process.

Step 4: The app will start searching for the nearby Google Wi-Fi devices.

Step 5: After that, you need to scan the QR code appearing on your Wi-Fi point. Scan that code and move ahead with the process.

Step 6: Aim the camera of your smartphone at the QR Code. The app will do the rest of the work.

Step 7: After that, select the location where you are going to keep the Wi-Fi point. Then, select Next.

Step 8: Now, you need to choose the network name and password. Then, you need to enter the details and then select Next.

Step 9: After that, the Google Wi-Fi point will begin to configure the Wi-Fi point. The process is going to take a while.

Step 10: Then, you will get a chance to add more Wi-Fi points to your Google Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi package of Google offers a maximum of 3 Wi-Fi points. So, you need to configure 2 more Wi-Fi points. Select the additional Wi-Fi points that you want to configure and then select Next.

Step 11: Now, you are required to expand the section given below for adding more Wi-Fi points to your network. In case you find that you don't need to add additional Wi-Fi points, then you must move on to the next step.

Step 12: When you are done adding all the Wi-Fi points, then the network settings will open up before you. Now, select Next.

Step 13: If new software is available, then the Google Wi-Fi app will download it. You need to apply this software to all the Wi-Fi points in your house.

Step 14: Once the update is done, then the completion screen will open up before you.

The Wi-Fi points you require are dependent on the size of your house. According to Google, a house occupying an area of 500-1500 sq ft needs 1 Wi-Fi point, an area of 1500-3000 sq ft needs 2 Wi-Fi points, and an area of 3000-4500 sq feet needs 3 Wi-Fi points.

This is just an estimate given on the basis of distance but the number of points depends on other factors as well. The first point is connected to the modem of your internet service provider. This way, you will get a good idea of how to get extra Wi-Fi points before you go ahead and buy Google Wi-FI devices.
