Setting up a Rackspace extender as an access point is a lot similar to setting it up as a range extender. However, there is a small difference. In this setup, the extender needs to be connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Additionally, a wired connection offers a better speed in comparison to a wireless connection.

Here, the access point will also provide you with a better speed.

Step 1: Ensure that your ethernet cable is long enough, so you can reach the place where you can connect your extender.

Step 2: After that, connect your extender to the wall outlet and wait for the power light to become solid.

Step 3: Now, connect your router and extender using an ethernet cable.

Step 4: Grab your laptop, tablet, or smartphone and then open the list of Wi-Fi networks.

Step 5: In that list, you are going to see rock space extender displaying its factory default name rockspace_EXT.

Step 6: Connect your device to the network and then launch your web browser such as Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.
