How do I Update Buffalo Linkstation Firmware

Buffalo Linkstation is one of the most popular and demanded products of the company. But you need to update its firmware from time-to-time for smooth functioning.

To update Buffalo Linkstation firmware you need to  follow some steps like check the present version of firmware by opening NAS Navigator. Go to the section of firmware and when the download gets completed then open the downloaded file.

Double click on the update icon and choose the unit, you want to update from the drop- down menu. Now you will be asked for the administrator password for NAS.

Step 1: To check your firmware’s present version, you are required to open up NAS Navigator. Choose the unit and the most recent version of firmware will be shown in the bottom left vertex. In case you don’t have NAS navigator installed, then carry out the steps given below. 

• Download the most recent version of NAS Navigator by going to the page of buffalo downloads. 
• Go to the Dock and choose the icon of download and launch the file of nasnavi  installation. 
• Click install
• Take a look at the warning and then select Open. 
• Select install NAS Navigator
• After the installation gets completed, then select ok. 

Step 2: Go to the page of Buffalo downloads and enter the model number of Buffalo LinkStation. 

Step 3: Go down to the section of firmware.

Step 4: When your download gets completed, go to the section of downloads and select the downloaded file to open it. 

Step 5: Double click on the icon of update. 

Step 6: After that, you will see a warning of click Open.

Step 7: Choose the unit that you want to update from the drop-down menu.  

Step 8: After you are done selecting the right unit by clicking on the button of Update.

Step 9: You will be asked for your administrator password for NAS. 

Step 10: The update is going to take some time to get completed. 

Step 11: When the update gets completed, you will receive the message of unit getting rebooted.

Step 12: To take a look at the new version, you need to go back to the NAS navigator one more time. You will see a new version in the lower right vertex.
