Change WiFi Password AT&T:

Do you use your AT&T wireless router on a regular basis? If yes, then the first thing you must do is to secure it as there is a chance that someone is waiting to get unauthorized access to your network. If the only network you are using is the AT&T wireless network, then that means all the devices at your home are connected to this network.

One small error of not securing your network can put all your data at risk. Therefore, it is extremely crucial to safeguard your network with password protection. This one action of yours can save your network from various threats. Below are the simple steps that you need to perform in order to change the password of your AT&T network.

Steps to Change the Username and Password of Your AT&T Router

There are 4 major steps that you need to perform in order to change the username and password of your AT&T router. Once you are done changing the password, you must bring your AT&T Wi-Fi back to default settings. For this, all you are required to do is to press the red button behind your router device. You must press that button for at least 20 seconds and then release it.

Now, the lights will stop blinking and you can reboot your router. Wait for some time and allow it to get restored. Now, wait for the lights to blink again. When you are done carrying out the process above, then you must follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Search for Modem Information

AT&T modems may be of different shapes and sizes. This is where you need to look for the information. You can easily locate the information tab on the main body. Find the information bar there and if you can't find it, then take a look at the AT&T logo.

To make things easier, you can click a picture of the information. You need details like the default gateway, the password, and the Wi-Fi network name. The default gateway is the same in the case of every AT&T device.

Step 2: Log in

To log into your router, you must turn on your computer and then launch an internet browser. Open Firefox or Chrome for quicker access.

Enter the IP address of your router i.e., 192.168.1.251 in the address bar of your browser and then press enter. Now, you will be taken to the login page of your AT&T Wi-Fi router.

Here, you are required to enter the username and password of your router and then log in. After that, you will automatically be taken to the dashboard.

Step 3: Change the Settings of Your Wireless Network

Now, change the SSID and password by following the directions given below.

Take a good look at the options available on your dashboard and then select Wi-Fi settings or network.

If you don't find any settings, then that means you need to update your router. Now, enter the settings by going to the LAN tabs or Network

Now, open the model that you wish to use, and then you will see the option to change the name of your network. The new name you create should be easy to remember.

After changing the network name, go to the password option. Select the radio button that will enable you to change the password.

Now, create a new password. The password you create should be 10 digits long.

Step 4: Save the Information

When you are done creating a new SSID name and password, then the last thing you need to do is to save the settings.

On your Settings page, scroll down and select the option of Save. If you close the page without saving it, then the changes made won't be saved.
