Fix It When a 5Ghz Network Isn't Working

The problem with the 5 GHz network is that it doesn't always look the same. There are several different reasons behind the nonworking problem with the 5 GH network. With the help of microwaves and Bluetooth devices, the 5GHz wifi networks undergo less noise and interference.

You are also also allowed to transfer data at a faster rate with less battery usage.  However, there is a disadvantage that may cause trouble and obstruction while using the 5GHz wifi network. The adapter you use may or may not support the 5GHz network. Household obstacles like walls can also affect the 5GHz network, and sometimes, the updated drivers and windows can be a cause of the problem, too.

How Do We Fix the 5Ghz Network If It is Not Working?

You can troubleshoot the 5GHz Network is not working issues by the following steps -

Checking the network adaptor support

  • Firstly, you have to make sure that the network card you are using supports 5GHz.
  • Click the Windows key and R key simultaneously.
  • It will open the run dialogue.
  • Type "devmgmt. msc" and hit "ok". It will open the device manager.
  • You have to find the network adaptor now and see if 5GHz is enabled or not. If it is not enabled, then you will have to change the network adaptor mode.

Try Removing All the Known Networks

You have to first go to the settings sections, click on the "network and internet" option, select Wi-Fi, and then manage known networks. You can now remove the known networks that are causing problems. Perform a restart on your PC once the 5Ghz network shows up again.

Try Checking the Compatibility of Your Router

You have to make sure that your Wi-Fi router shares compatibility with 5 GHz frequencies. You can connect to the router with the help of an ethernet cable to solve all router-related issues.

Try Updating the Network Adapter Drivers

An outdated adapter driver can cause a lot of problems for you. It is highly recommended that you visit the manufacturer's official website to update the network adaptor driver and install the correct drivers.

Insert Correct Credentials

It is one of the most common mistakes committed by many individuals. If you enter an incorrect password, you will not be able to connect to your 5GHz Wi-Fi network. It is always a better idea to ensure that you enter the correct password.

All of the above-mentioned steps may vary depending on your router configuration and the system. If, after trying all the steps, the issue is still not fixed, then you can also consider seeking professional help.
