All kinds of internet connecting equipment including routers and extenders are available with different LEDs embedded on the console indicating different situations as regards the internet connection.
Initially, I wondered blinking of which different light reflected what special status on my Verizon Fios router and was deeply puzzled what Verizon Fios Yellow Light actually signaled. But then, I tried troubleshooting the issue and came across knowing much more about the flashing of yellow light on my Verizon Fios.
A solid yellow light on Verizon Fios is indicative of the fact that there is no internet connection and that the Verizon extender is in pairing mode with the router.
So, here is a quick guide to troubleshooting yellow light from your Verizon Fios.
Rebooting your Verizon Fios is a feasible solution when the yellow light keeps blinking indicating no internet connectivity. Simply switch your Verizon Fios off for a minute and then switch it on.
If the internet connectivity is restored it will be shown by the blink of solid white light. If the yellow light is still blinking then follow the step discussed below.
Another reason for the blinking of the yellow light is perhaps the overheating of Verizon Fios. This happens when your Verizon Fios is installed at a place where relatively high temperature, excessive humidity, or poor airflow is observed.
This will probably reduce down the internet speed and cause intermittent internet interruption. This can be dealt with by turning your Verizon Fios off and relocating it to a place with better airflow.
Another reason that can be attributed to the blinking of the yellow light on Verizon Fios is that the wires connecting the end of the router with the electronic panel or your computer system may have become loose.
To check this up, hold the wires for a while and if the internet connection is restored, you must unplug all the relevant cables and must insert the cables again after waiting for a minute.
Impaired cables may also be the real cause of the blinking of the Verizon Fios Yellow Light. It may happen because animal-like rats may have eaten into the wire or with the efflux of time the wires may have got damaged. I
n both such cases, you must replace the damaged part of the Verizon Fios cable.
In a different scenario Verizon Extender may also flash a solid yellow light indicating that it is ready to be paired with your Verizon Fios. So, to finally pair them up, press the buttons on both the Verizon Fios and Verizon Extender.
Subsequently, the pairing will be reflected by the blinking of blue light once the connection is set.
