3. Type the default password that is given at the back of your router. The password is the same for both network types.
4. Default password is unsafe as any unauthorized party can have access to the network by entering that password. Therefore, it is recommended to change your wireless network name and password. In the first step you are required to connect all the wireless devices by entering the old network name and password. The new password that you create should be easy to remember.

In case you are facing issues in personalizing the name and password of your wireless network from your Spectrum account, then these are the steps that you need to follow.

Before you start with the process, you need to connect to the spectrum Wi-Fi using the network name and password. The network name and password provided by spectrum are labeled on spectrum equipment.

Step 1: Select the IP address 192.168.0.1. Another web page will open up before you where you can change the network settings.

Step 2: Enter the webpage by typing the username and password.

Step 3: Go to the menu of Gateway, then select connection and then finally select Wi-Fi.

Step 4: The Wi-Fi page will open up before you. Select the button of Edit that is given after the access point that you wish to change from 5 GHz or 2.5 Ghz.

Step 5: Update the network password and network name on the new Edit page that appears before you.

Step 6: For router, modify the name and password of the network as asked and then click on the option of Save Settings.
