Login to the 192.168.10.1 IP Address:

As you may know, each device connected to a computer network that communicates using the Internet Protocol is given a numerical label known as an Internet Protocol address or IP address. An IP address identifies a device and creates a connection to it.

However, not all IP addresses are reachable over the internet, and 192.168.1.1 is one of them. Most Linksys routers' default IP address is one of 65,536 IP addresses in the private IPv4 address space's 16-bit block, which ranges from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255.

There are about 26 billion devices connected to the Internet, but with over 4 billion IPv4 addresses available, not all devices connected to the Internet can have their own IP addresses.  Without an IP address, the device has no way of identifying itself on the network.

As a result, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), a US private non-profit company that oversees the global allocation of IP addresses, has the potentially disastrous consequences of IPv4 address exhaustion: private IP addresses.

That is correct! 192.168.10.1 is actually a private IP address, a special type of IP address that is not sent over the Internet. That is, there is no need to coordinate its use with IP address registers.

If you use a network analyzer for a detailed analysis of nearby networks, you can be sure that you will find many devices that also use multiple private IP addresses to log in to the 192.168.10.1 IP Address.

The private IP address seems to have three blocks or sequences.

  • 24-bis block: 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255 (16,777,216 addresses in total).
  • 20-to-block: 172.16.0.0-172.31.255.255 (total 1,048,576 addresses).
  • 16-to-block: 192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255 (65,536 addresses in total).

Unlike public IP addresses, private IP addresses are not unique. For example, every private network in the world has a device with the IP address 192.168.10.1.

Two devices with IP address 192.168.10.1 cannot be on the same network

In the not too distant future, private IP addresses such as 192.168.10.1 may be deprecated as Internet service providers around the world switch to IPv6, the latest version of Internet Protocol (IP) communication protocols, including 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,445,668.
