Question

How to Resolve Readynet Router Problem after Power Failure

Hello, my ReadyNet WRT300N-D6 router is not functioning in the wireless mode. It just had a power failure for about 3 hours. The hard wired connections work fine. Also, cannot reach or view the router via the IP address either. I am afraid to press the reset button for fear it will cause new problems with the hard wired connection which is working for now. Yes, I tried unplugging etc, still no change. Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Readynet Router not Working after Power Outage:

I would suggest

  1. Unplugging your modem, your router and shutting down all devices.
  2. Power up the modem, give it a few minutes.
  3. Plug in the router, give it a minute, then power up your PC.
  4. If it still doesn't work, log in to the router and find the tab that has the routers IP information.
  5. See that your router is getting an IP from your ISP.
  6. It could be that your ISP lost power as well and their servers are still down (but I'm not actually sure if that happens).
  7. You can try getting a new DNS server if you can still connect to some things (like steam friends) but URLs are failing; Google offers a public DNS you can use.
  8. Also, reinstall router driver if reinstalling the chipset drivers and LAN drivers doesn't fix it, then there is the possibility that your motherboard took some damage during the power outage.
