To port forward on the Asus RT-AC68U Router first need to set up the static IP address to which you are going to forward the port then you can log in to your Asus RT-AC68U router by opening any internet browser and then enter the IP address of your router and enter the username and password.

As you log in by using your login credentials, the settings page of the Asus router will open. Now search for the port forwarding section and ensure that the radio button of Enable Port Forwarding, and select Yes then put it in the Box of Service Name. Select the protocol that you wish to forward to and finally select the Add button and the changes are made.

We are Going to Discuss the Steps to Forwarding a Port on Asus RT-AC68U Router:

Step 1: The foremost thing that you need to do is to set up a static IP address in the device to which you are forwarding the port. With this, there is a surety that the ports will remain open even when the restart is over. Once you are done setting up a static IP address, then the next step is to log into your router.

Step 2: After that, you can log into your Asus RT-AC68U router. It has a web interface. This means that you can log into it using an internet browser. You can log into your router by opening any internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome.

The choice of browser doesn't matter. When you launch the internet browser, you need to go to the URL section. There, you need to enter the IP address of your router. The IP address is also known by the name of the default gateway of the PC.

After that, the "enter network password" box will open up before you. There, you are required to enter the username and password. The default username is admin and the default password of your router is admin.

Step 3: Now, the settings page of your Asus router will open up before you. Now, search for the port forwarding section of your router.

Select the WAN button given under the Advanced heading. After that, select the port forwarding tab given at the top of your page.

Step 4: Please ensure that the radio button of "Enable port forwarding Yes" is selected. Give a name to this forward and then put it in the box of "Service Name". The name does not impact port forwarding as such but is used as a reminder.

In case you are planning to forward a range of ports, then you must enter the port range in the box of the port range. You are required to enter the lowest port first and then enter the highest port. For instance, there are ports between 500 and 600, then you will be able to forward ports within this range.

Enter the IP address to which you would like to forward the ports to in the box of Local IP. In case you are forwarding ports to run a program on some other device and not your PC, then you are required to enter the IP address of the device.

You need to select the protocol that you wish to forward from the protocol box. Once you are done, select the Add button. Once you are totally done, then select Apply button given at the end of the screen. Now, save the changes made.
