The wireless-protected setup helps you establish a wireless connection with devices. There are two different methods through which you can configure WPS on an ASUS RT-AC68U wireless router. The first one is by clicking the WPS button, and the second one is by the client's WPS process.

For the configuration, you first need to access the router's interface, enable the WPS, and connect the devices with WPS's help. If you come across any problem with the WPS, then you can troubleshoot the problem by updating the firmware and resetting the router to its factory default settings.

What is WPS?

WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) may be a wireless security standard that permits you to simply connect devices to a wireless network. you'll configure the WPS function via the PIN code or WPS button.

WPS helps authentication using Open System, WPA-Personal, and WPA2-Personal. WPS doesn't support a wireless network that uses a Shared Key, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise, and RADIUS encryption method.

Note: make sure that the devices support WPS.

Steps to configure WPS on an ASUS RT-AC68U

Step 1: Go to an internet browser, type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar, then press Enter.

Step 2: Type the admin username and password and then click OK. (The default username and password are both admin).

Step 3: With the advanced menu on the left side, click Wireless.

Step 4: Click the WPS tab at the highest.

Step 5: By default, the router is going to be enabled for the two .4 GHz frequencies. to show off WPS, click the On / Off slider.

Step 6: Under WPS turned off, the frequencies are often switched to five GHz by clicking Switch Frequency.

Step 7: Tap On / Off slider to show WPS back on.

Step 8: If the device connecting to the router supports WPS, the WPS Button on the router will have to be pressed within 3 minutes of the client device beginning to look for the router.

If WPS Cannot Connect Successfully Then Check Your Router Updated Version
