How to Reset TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs Switches

Please let me know that how to reset TP-Link Kasa smart plugs switches. I am facing some issues while doing reset it. Help me.

Smart plugs are very important while you are traveling or moving. Though there are smart wall outlets and smart switches but they are more complex and hard wired than compared to smart plugs. In case you need to reset TP-LINK Kasa Smart Plugs Switches, then you can do this in two ways i.e. hard reset and soft reset.

These ways can be used in different situations like if your smart switch or plug is acting strange than perform a ‘soft reset’. And if you are moving to a new location then perform ‘hard reset’. It is easy to perform a soft reset as you have to press and hold the reset button till you see green or amber light flashing on the screen and can set up your device using the Kasa app on your device.

On the other hand hard reset needs a lot of steps to perform in order to reset TP-LINK Kasa Smart Plugs Switches.

How to Perform a Soft Reset on TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs-

Press the reset button and then hold it till you see a green or amber light flashing on the screen. Now, you can set up your device again using the Kasa app on your mobile device.

TP-Link HS105 W-Fi is the only Wi-Fi where your see amber and blue lights flashing. 

How to Perform a Hard Reset on TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs-

If you wish to know how to hard reset your TP-Link Kasa Smart plugs, switches, and wall outlets, then perform the steps mentioned below. 

Step 1: Press the reset button and hold it till you see the Wi-Fi light blinking amber quickly. It generally takes around 10 seconds.

Step 2: Press the Control button to turn off or turn on the outlet

Step 3: Now, press the Control button again, hold it for at least 5 seconds and enable the setup mode again. 

Step 4: After that, press the Control button for 5 seconds and then your device will go back to the factory default settings.
