How to Configure a Buffalo Terastation TS3410DN

Hello, Please let me know how to configure a Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN? I'm unable to handle it. Help me.

Configure Buffalo Terastation TS3410DN:

In order to configure a Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN, you can access the Settings interface through a browser window. You just have to open that interface with the provided steps or you can simply enter the  TeraStation’s IP address into the address field of your browser.

Note: Web browsers like Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 or later, and Safari 9 or later support the web interface of this TeraStation. If you still face any sort of difficulty in checking Settings, follow the given points:

  • If the number of registered users, groups, or shared folders are more, it is recommended to use other browser instead of Internet Explorer.
  • If a proxy server is enabled in browser settings then either configure the exception settings for Settings or simply disable the proxy server.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer, set security to Local intranet. On Windows Server OS, higher-level security is set by default. So, temporarily set to low level. 

Steps to Configure Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN:

Setting Up Through Setup Wizard-

While you access the device Settings for the first time, or after you start the TeraStation’s settings, the setup wizard is automatically shown to you. In order to set up the TeraStation with the help of wizard, follow the given procedure.

Step 1: firstly, double-click on the NAS Navigator2 icon (   ) which will start NAS Navigator2.

Step 2: Now, right-click the TeraStation’s icon and choose Settings. If you are using macOS, then select the TeraStation’s icon while holding the control key along and then select Settings.

Step 3: You will find the password settings page on your screen. Type and set a desired new admin password and click Next. If you wish to Skip, then admin password will not modify from what which was by default set as “password”.

Step 4: Next, you will see the time zone settings page. From here, you can change the time zone which is currently displayed on the page. Easily select any from the drop-down list and click on Next.

Step 5: Now, the proxy server settings page is shown. If you set the TeraStation under a proxy network, then set your proxy settings and last click on Next.

Step 6: Next, the RAID settings page is shown over screen. In order to modify the RAID mode from the default mode, you can select the desired RAID mode and click on the Next button. Subsequently, click on the Start on the next page.

Now, a “Confirm Operation” screen will appear on your screen. So, you can enter the confirmation number and click the OK. This will start the changing process for the RAID mode. 

Step 7: If you wish to keep the RAID mode as it is then select “Keep current RAID mode” and  Next.

Note: Please note that the RAID settings page is not displayed if you are using the TS3210DN series and the two-drives included TS3410DN series TeraStations.

Step 8: Now, the folder path to get access to shared folders is shown on the screen. So, this is how the setup will finish and you can configure a Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN.

Opening Setup Wizard

Once after the initial setup of wizard is installed, the next step to configure a Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN is to run the setup wizard. For launching the setup wizard again, follow the given steps stated below: 

Step 1: Click on Management under Settings,

Step 2: Right click on “Restore/Erase”.

Step 3: Click on Execute Wizard option.

Step 4: This will open the “Confirm Operation” screen. Type the confirmation number and click OK.

Step 5: Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup wizard.

Step 2: Now, right-click the TeraStation’s icon and select the Settings. In case of macOS, choose the TeraStation’s icon while holding the control key together. Then, select Settings.

Step 3: Lastly, enter the username and password and click the OK button.

Notes

  • If the time-out period is equal to “10 minutes”, you will be automatically logged out from Settings after 10 minutes of inactivity.
  • Click over Secure Connection if you want to log in through an encrypted connection.

Step 4: Finally, the Settings will open and you can Configure a Buffalo TeraStation TS3410DN as required.
