How to reset a router password?

I have a router, and i forget it's access now. So tell me the procedure to reset my old password to new one. I have some urgent work but not to doing anything just because of my router access. So help me out and thanks in advance.

Step 5: Go to Security settings and change the security to WPA or WPA2 and fill in a strong password you can remember. Once done click on “apply” button.
Step 6: Write down this password for further use. Once done switch off your router for few minutes before switching it on.

You can access router password by performing a hard reset. For hard resetting, follow these troubleshooting steps:-

  • On the back or bottom of your router,  you should find a small pin sized reset button. 
  • While your router is plugged in, press and hold your router's reset button for 30 seconds. You may have to use a paperclip or pin to press your router's reset button.
  • You should notice your router's lights flicker and flash. That is an indication that your is hard reset. 
  • Now connect computer to router by using Ethernet cable Or LAN.
  • Type 192.168.0.1 in your web browser and hit “Enter.
  • The default Homepage of router will open. Which ask you to enter the username and password of the router. The default username is "admin" and for password leave the field blank and hit Enter or you can double check the username and password they were mention at the back of router.
  • Now you can access the configuration of router.Go to the security setting set security to WPA or WPA2.Enter your password hit "Enter".
  • Then you lose your Internet connectivity. Now you have to enter your new password to access.
  • Finally, Your Router password has been reset.
