How To Track Router History & Monitor Internet Activity?

Is there anyone who knows about how to track router history & monitor internet activity. I am facing some issue in this help me.

Track Router History & Monitor Internet Activity:

You cannot access another person's search history directly even when they are connected to the home router. You can easily set up the router for logging into the browser history of the user.

Nevertheless, the collection of data like the browsing history of someone violates the privacy policy. You must not access another individual's browsing history and limit its use by applying legitimate methods, which will allow you to monitor internet usage by your child.

Benefits of Router Tracking History

Many third-party applications allow you to use parental control functions that can help you monitor the browsing activities of your children or any other individual in the family. A person who has good technical knowledge can easily discover ways to track browsing activities by searching for different tricks on Google.

You may even require to download some tools on your system as well. When you monitor user activity using your router, then you need to be very careful about it as it becomes difficult to remove by a computer user.

Check User Activity - Check Browsing History Wireless Router

The settings of your router may differ based on the brand that you are using. Most of the routers have a log feature. This feature has all the IP addresses for your router device. The browsing history is also stored in logs. Before you move on to check logs, you need to know the IP address of the target device.

After that, go to the attached devices. This feature may have a different name on your device. But, you are actually searching for a page that has IP addresses of all the connected devices. Once you get to know the IP address that belongs to your target, then you must note it. You may refer to it at some later point in time.

Now, select logs to see all the websites, which you visited when you were connected to your router. A list of domain IPs will open up before you along with the user's IP address.

Now, use the IP address of the target for monitoring their internet activity. After that, the log will get disabled on its own. If you wish to track the activity of some other user, then you should turn on this feature.

How to Access Router Settings?

In order to make this work, you must open the settings page of your router. For this, you need to know the IP address of your router.

Step 1: The first thing that you need to do is to find the IP address of your router. To do so, you must open Run and then launch CMD. After that, select OK.

Step 2: After that, type IPCONFIG/ALL and allow the command prompt to execute the command.

Step 3: Scroll down to see the results

Step 4: You will see some numerical values stringed together with the use of a dot. Copy and paste this IP address in the location bar of your browser.

Enter Your Login Credentials

Most people are clueless about their login credentials. This may be because your router was set up by some other person. If you don't know how to access your router's settings, then don't worry as here we will help you learn how to do so. Whenever you buy a router, it comes along with some documentation.

Those documents contain the default username and password. In case you don't have that documentation with you anymore, then try entering common login credentials to log into your router. The most common default username is admin and the most common default password is password.

If this doesn't help you, then you can always search for the default username and password online. After some thorough searching, you will surely find out the default username and password specifically for your wireless router model. There is a chance that your router was configured previously and the credentials were changed.

In case you don't know the changed username and password, then you can try resetting your router. A reset will bring your router back to the factory default settings. When you will reset your router, then you will have to reconfigure the network name and password.

If you are still using the default credentials, then you must consider changing them and make your network more secure. Now that you know the username and password, you can easily log in and open the settings page of your router.
