In order to check the connection status of your router to your wireless network and its IP address, you will necessarily have to check the status of your Linksys range extender.
Below is your step by step guide to check the status of your Linksys range extender: Linksys RE6300, RE6400, RE6500, RE6700, RE3000W v2, or RE4100W
1. Go to the browser and log in to the web-based setup page of your range extender. Here are the steps to log in to the setup page.
2. On the left pane of your screen, click on device info under the status Option.
3. Next, have a look on the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway under Network Address. They should be the same as your wireless router’s. The IP Address should have the same first three (3) octets as the Default Gateway.
(Every device that’s connected to your wireless router in your network should have the same first three (3) octets as the Default Gateway, too. For example, if the Default Gateway is 192.168.1.1, your other devices should have an IP address of 192.168.1.x, where x is the only value that’s different from each other.)
4. On the left pane of your screen, click on WLAN statistics under the status Option.
5. Lastly, look whether the Network Name (SSID) field is the same as your wireless network’s and then check the Status below. It should be displayed as “Associated”..
(These settings should also be the same as the 5 GHz settings if you have a simultaneous dual-band router.)
