Open Ports in an Arris TG1682G Router:

The Arris TG1682G router is a firewall that blocks incoming connections you have not authorized and helps to protect your home network against unwanted access to the internet. You need to create an open port or more frequently called the port forward for allowing a connection through your firewall. 

The process involves-

1. Set up a static IP address on the game console on the computer you want the ports forwarded to.

2. You need to login to your ideas TG1682G router

3. Now navigate to the port forwarding section

  • Select the advanced link
  • Click on the port forwarding option
  • Press the add service button
  • To create a port forward enter data in your router.

4. Sounds difficult and confusing to you but by following the below-mentioned step you can correctly open ports in an Arris TG1682G router.

Step 1: It is essential to set up a static IP address in the device that you are forwarding a port for ensuring that your port remains open even after your device reboots. You need to log into your router after setting up a static IP address on your device.

Step 2: You can now log into the Arris TG1682G router. Routers use a web interface which means you need to log in to the router setup page using a web browser to access it.

  • Enter the single port number in both the start port and the end port box if you are only forwarding a single port number but if you are forwarding a range of Port separated by a hyphen then enter the highest number of that range into the end port box and enter the lowest number of that range into the start port box.
  • Click on the Save button once you have finished the process.
  • Test whether your ports are open or not.

After you have completed or finished the steps do check your work whether the Arris TG1682G ports are forwarded correctly or not.
