Port Forwarding on Sagemcom Fast 5260 Router:

The Firewall protection of your Sagemcom router keeps it safe from unauthorized access. The firewall blocks all the connections so that no unknown user can have access to your internet. To authorize these ports for games, you are required to do port forwarding.

Here in this post, you will learn how to create a port forward on your router device. So, let's discuss the process in detail.

Step 1: It is necessary for you to set up a static IP address in the device where you are going to forward the ports. This makes sure that your ports will be open even when you are done rebooting the device. Once you are done setting up the IP address, then log into your router.

Step 2: After that, log into your Sagemcom 5620 router. For this, we need to launch an internet browser to open the settings of your router. You can any browser. The type of browser does not matter. Therefore, it is recommended to use the browser that you usually use.

The common internet browsers are Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. After launching the web browser, you must search for the address bar. It is usually at the top of the browser. In the URL section or the address bar, you are required to enter the IP address of your router. After that, press Enter on your keyboard.

This IP address is actually the internal IP address of the router. This is also called the default gateway of the router.

After typing the IP address, press enter. Now, a dialog box will open up before you.

There, you must enter the username and password for your Sagemcom router. Now, log into the router interface.

Step 3: When you are done logging into your Sagemcom router, then you need to search for the port forwarding section of your device. After performing this step, you need to go to the Home page. Now, select the option of services given at the top.

You will see a cloud icon on services. After that, select the option of port forwarding. Then, choose Add Rule. Now, you will enter the port forwarding section of your router.

Step 4: Create a name for your port forward and then keep it in the box of "custom service name". The name is only created to give you a reminder and does not create any impact on port forward. After that, go to the Service dropdown box and choose Other.

Select the protocol which you wish to forward by going to the protocol box. Now, select Any from the External Host dropdown box. Now, enter the port into the internal as well as the external port boxes.

After that, enter the IP address of the device that you wish to forward the ports to in the internal host box. This can be your PC's  IP address. It can also be the IP address of some other device on your network. Please ensure that you select the Add button once the entry is complete.

Check If Your Ports are Open

Once you are done completing the process of port forwarding, then the next thing that you need to do is to see if the ports have been forwarded rightly or not. For this purpose, you need to use an Open Port Checker, which makes use of local network apps to check whether the server is listening to the ports or not.

In case it is listening, then that means you have an open port. In case the server isn't listening, then that means the port forwarding didn't take place properly.

In case you are having issues with the port forwarding procedure, then you must use the software. However, the process is simple but there are some things that may block the process. The software is going to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to port forwarding.
