Steps for Setting up Linksys Wireless Extender

Mentioned below are the steps that you need to carry out in order to setup your Linksys wireless extender.

Step 1: Reste your extender device to the factory default settings. Press the reset button of your wireless extender and keep on pressing it for the next 4 seconds. After that, the LED light will start blinking on your Linksys wireless repeater.

Step 2: Take an ethernet wire and connect its one end to the wireless extender and the other end to your PC.

Step 3: After that, restart your extender device Also, ensure that the lights are stable.

Step 4: Then, open your internet browser on your PC. After that, enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the location bar of your browser.

Step 5: Now, a window will open up on the screen of your PC where you will be required to enter the username and password for logging in. Leave the username section empty and enter admin in the password section.

Step 6: Now, the extender page of your browser will open up before you.

Step 7: Select wireless and then open basic wireless settings.

Step 8: Now, press the wireless button and select manual. After that, enter the name of your wireless network.

Step 9: After that, move to the section of wireless security. Then, enter the password of your wireless router. Now, save settings.

Step 10: In the end, disconnect the power wires of your Linksys wireless extender and router. Now, wait for at least 30 seconds. Restart all the devices and then your repeater device will sync with the router.

Launch the DHCP table to check whether the setup process was successful or not. After that, start searching for the IP address of the extender.
