Question

Why Does My Wireless Internet Connection Say "No Internet Access Unidentified Network Limited Access"

I just got a new PC (acer tab) for my graduation and I was using it perfectly fine on my homes wifi until yesterday when my internet stopped working and displayed a little yellow exclamation mark on the wireless connection bars. It says Limited access and won't let me access the internet. I do not have a virus and I tried to reboot my router and computer. I am in tears of frustration. Please HELP!

Unidentified Network No Internet Access:

Try these methods whenever you see “no internet access”/ “Unidentified network access” on the screen :-

Step 1 : Whenever you see unidentified network access message on the screen then, first of all, check your PC ‘s settings because it might be possible that problem lies with system settings. So, restart your system and reconnect devices. Sometimes a simple reset helps us to resolve connectivity issues in the easiest way.

Step 2 : It might be possible that the website you are trying is visited is currently down. Under such circumstances, choose a different browser and then visit the website.

Step 3 : If your internet was working properly for a long time and suddenly you experience connectivity issues then try this-

  • Disconnect router’s power cable.
  • Wait for a few moments.
  • Again plug modem and router and wait for a few minutes.

Step 4 : If you are using the router then make sure wireless adapter is enabled. Sometimes, wireless adapter gets turned off when you accidentally press the button, so also look into this.

Step 5 : If you are using Windows operating system then repair the connection in the following way -

  • Press Windows + R to open Run. In Run box, type “npca.cpl” and you will see Network Connection Window will open on the screen.
  • After this, press a right click on the network adapter and then choose “Diagnose” option. By doing this, Windows will automatically start the scanning process. If the issues are found, then fix them by following on-screen prompts.

Unidentified Network No Internet Access:

Check your settings where computer says unidentified network to see if it's set to public or private it should be private if not click on customize then private and it should identify. You may have to do this on the host computer.

All Linksys routers come with the default network name of Linksys, so it can be hard to tell several apart when connecting to them. If the other network has changed its encryption settings, you might see symptoms like the ones you're having.

You should try going into the router's administration pages and changing the network name (SSID). You'll have to change all wireless computers and devices to match it.

Good Luck!
