All WiFi routers have the ability to connect wirelessly. If you want to setup range extender at your home, you need to place your main router near extender and then see the results. If you want to use your HP router as an extender then please have a look at these steps -

1.First of all, plug the HP router into your PC by using a Cat5 ethernet cable. You have to insert one end of the ethernet cable into the HP router’s LAN port and another end into ethernet port that is located on your system.

2.After this, take a paperclip and insert into reset hole of HP router. Normally reset hole is located on near the power adapter plug. By pressing the reset button, you have to reset your router to factory settings.

By doing this, all previous settings will get erased and it will be easy for you to access GUI.

3.Now, find the default IP address of your HP router and type into the address bar. After this, hit Enter key.

4.When you will HP router’s login screen on the screen, just enter login credentials to access GUI.

5.If you don’t know login credentials please contact HP router Technical Support Number. Although you can also get some help by visiting “Passwords.com” website.

6.After logging into HP router, go to “Basic Settings” page and locate DHCP server option and set it as disabled.

7.In next step, go to Wireless Setup page and search SSID. Verify that its value is same as that which is written on your router. In all routers, SSID is written on the back-side.

8. For router’s security, you need to change “Passphrase”. By updating SSID and passphrase, you can easily connect your main router to extender without any issue. If any issue arises then immediately contact experts at HP Router Technical Support Number.

9.After updating security settings, save the changes by clicking on “Save” button.

10.Now, remove the ethernet cable from your system and router. Plug ethernet cable’s one end into main router’s LAN port and another end into WAN extender. To ensure coverage of the network, just place your HP router within 30 feet of the main router. By doing this, the signal will reach on every corner of the house.

While setting up HP router as a range extender, if any problem arises then reach out at HP router Technical Support Number. Here, you can directly talk to certified experts and get an instant response.

Use Range Extender for HP Router:

The ideal location to place the Extender is halfway between your wireless HP router and your computer, but the extender should be in the wireless range of HP router.

If you have to use a different location, move extender closer to the device, but still within the wireless range of the router.Try to connect your computer to the Ethernet port of your range extender using an Ethernet cable. You will be prompted with a window asking for a username and password.

Now, click Wireless and go to Basic Wireless Settings.Enter your Passphrase or WEP Key then click Save Settings. It is recommended to use WPA/WPA2 wireless security on your HP router and range extender.Unplug the power cables of the router and the range extender for 30 seconds.

Plug in the router first. Wait for all the lights to be stable then plug in the range extender.Your range extender should now be in synchronized with your router.
