Go to the web-based interface of the router by entering the IP address of your router in the location bar of your browser.
Step 1: First of all, log into the setup page of your router by entering the default username and password. In case you made any changes in the login credentials, then you must enter the newly changes credentials. Enter the username and password in their respective sections.
Step 2: Once you log into the setup page of your router, then start looking for updates in the next window. In case you see the update button, then click on the option of Download and then visit the main website by entering the model number.
Step 3: Go to the support tab and then select the option of download. After that, you need to enter the hardware version and search for the file that is available for download. After that, select Save when the file is downloaded.
Then, move to the tab of Admin and then click on the firmware that is located in the saved files. When you are done uploading the file, then it will begin to upgrade automatically.
Once you are done performing all the steps above, then you will be able to fix the issue of "parental controls" not working. Now, go to the web interface page and turn on parental controls.
