I went to this site http://192.168.1.1 that an hp assistant gave me to help me reset it only the link does not work. I don't want to call the number back because its late. Basically lost right now. Need some damn help. Would be greatly appreciated.

Setup Linksys Router:

Resetting a router is needed if you need to access the router's configuration screen yet you have forgotten your router's username and password.

Here's how to do it.

  1. Shut down your computer.
  2. Turn off your DSL modem (optional).
  3. Look for the "reset" button of your Linksys router.
  4. You may use a clip pen or something that can fit right into the hole (reset) then press and hold it for 30 seconds (approx). (make sure that the router is on while pressing the Reset button or you can just turn it on while pressing it).
  5. Wait for the Power WLAN and Internet light to turn on you may now release the reset button and should be able to access the router's GUI by opening a browser and going to https://192.168.1.1/ "most of the linksys router's username/password is" username: blank and the password is: admin.
