Setup Linksys Extender without WPS:

In order to setup your Linksys extender, you don't always require a PC with you as you can also set it up using smartphone. If you have an Android device or iPhone that is Wi-Fi enabled, then you can setup your linksys extender by using the steps given below. 

Step 1: First of all, connect your Linksys extender to the power source. 

Step 2: Wait for the power light to start flashing in green colour. 

Step 3: Open the option of WI-Fi setting on your smartphone and then start searching for the Wi-Fi name extender setup. 

Step 4: Once it gets connected, launch an internet browser on your smartphone and enter the web address Extender.linksys.com in the location bar. 

Step 5: After going to the extender setup page, carry out the instructions appearing on the screen. Then, select the home Wi-Fi network that you want for your extender. 

Step 6: Disconnect the extender and then connect it within the Wi-Fi range of your router. 

Step 7: Now your extender is setup and yu can finally use it.

How to Setup Linsys Extender without WPS Setup? 

There are several methods using which you can setup your Linksys extender. If you do not have a WPS button on your router, then you need to enable the virtual WPS button by going to the online router page. The WPS Linksys extender setup is preferred because this method is fast and easy.

However, if you don't wanna follow that method, then these are some of the steps that you can carry out to setup linksys extender. 

Step 1: Take an ethernet cable and use it to connect your computer system to the range extender. 

Step 2: After that, connect your range extender to the power source. Also, you need to make sure that the LED light is turned on.

Step 3: Launch your internet browser and enter the IP address in the location bar of the router. 

Step 4: A window will open up before you, which will ask you to enter your password and username. There, you are required to leave the username section empty and enter admin in the password section. After that, choose the option of login. 

Step 5: Click on Wireless and then select the option of basic wireless settings. 

Step 6: Put the radio button to manual and then enter the network name of the router. 

Step 7: Now in the next step, you are required to select the security settings and then enter the network name of your router. 

Step 8: Enter the WEP key or passphrase in the search bar and then save settings.

Step 9: Disconnect the power wire from the range extender and router and let it remain disconnected for the next 30 seconds. 

Step 10: Don't move ahead in the process till you find that the lights are stable and then reconnect the range extender.
