If you want to log in to Netgear wifi extender, then here are some steps to start with. First, make sure you establish a connection between the Netgear range extender and the computer with the help of an ethernet cable. Now open a web browser on your computer and look for mywifiext.net.

A login interface will open, where you will have to add your default username and password details, you will be now successfully logged in and access the settings. Choose the wireless settings option under the admin interface tab. Once you are logged in, you can manage settings according to your convenience and change the password for better security.

In Order to Reconnect Your NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender via Ethernet Network, Follow the Below Discussed Steps.

Step 1 : Connect your Netgear range extender to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Step 2 : Quickly start any installed browser on your computer.

Important: Whenever you try to access the link http://www.mywifiext.net/ to set up your wireless extender, there are probable chances of getting an error message which makes it unable to connect to the site. Why the error message occurs? This can occur because http://www.mywifiext.net/ is not a regular website.

It is a local web address which is only accessible when you want to open the settings (genie or Smart Wizard) of a NETGEAR wireless range extender. For this, your computer must be either physically connected via Ethernet cable or wirelessly connected to your NETGEAR range extender in order to access this web address.

Step 4 : Press the Enter button or simply click Search option. A login interface displays on your screen.

Step 5 : Here you can enter the username and password which was initially set for the Wi-Fi during setup and installation.

Note: The default username is admin and the default password is password and both are case sensitive.

If you want to recover your password, click the Username & Password Help link present over the same page.
