Once after the successful Netgear extender login setup, if you have a query like What is the way for Netgear extender login or How to login to Netgear wifi extender, then this post instructs two methods to reconnect your NETGEAR WiFi range extender to your home network. Make sure that the extender has been previously connected to your router and obtained a valid IP address.
Step 1 : Connect your Netgear range extender to your computer using an Ethernet cable.
Step 2 : Quickly start any installed browser on your computer.
Step 3 : Enter the URL http://mywifiext.net into the address bar of the web browser.
Important: Whenever you try to access the link http://www.mywifiext.net/ to set up your wireless extender, there are probable chances of getting an error message which makes it unable to connect to the site. Why the error message occurs? This can occur because http://www.mywifiext.net/ is not a regular website.
It is a local web address which is only accessible when you want to open the settings (genie or Smart Wizard) of a NETGEAR wireless range extender. For this, your computer must be either physically connected via Ethernet cable or wirelessly connected to your NETGEAR range extender in order to access this web address.
Step 4 : Press the Enter button or simply click Search option. A login interface displays on your screen.
Step 5 : Here you can enter the username and password which was initially set for the Wi-Fi during setup and installation.
Note: The default username is admin and the default password is password and both are case sensitive.
If you want to recover your password, click the Username & Password Help link present over the same page.
Step 6 : Finally, click the Netgear extender login button.
Step 7 : Select Wireless Settings under the Setup tab of the admin interface.
Step 8 : Under Security Options, check whether the Password value(Network Key) field is the same as your router password or not.
Step 9 : If the password does not match, set the network key same as that your router password.
Step 10 : Now, Click over the Apply button.
Step 11 : Reconnect your WiFi devices to the Netgear WiFi extender.
Step 1 : Reset the Netgear Wifi range extender. For this, push and hold the Factory Settings button which is located on the side panel of extender for 7 seconds.
Step 2 : Now access the WiFi menu on your computer or mobile device where you want to use this extended network.
Step 3 : Connect to the extender’s default WiFi network, named as NETGEAR_EXT.
Step 4 : Launch any installed web browser on your connected device.
Step 5 : Again type http://mywifiext.net into the address bar of your web browser.
Step 6 : Press the Enter button or simply click the Search button. This will display the login page.
Step 7 : Here, you can enter the username and password for your Wi-Fi extender.
Note: The default username and the default password is admin and password respectively, both are case sensitive.
Step 8 : Click on netgear wifi extender login button.
Step 9 : Start following a series of prompts until your extender is reconnected to your home network.
Note: If your router uses WEP security, you have to enter its network name (SSID) and network key (password) into the prompted window on the screen.
Step 10 : Now, you can reconnect your WiFi devices to the Netgear Wi-Fi extender.
A Factory Reset for Netgear range extender is required for cases when you have lost the password or username and you want to reset the login credentials of the router.
