Backup and Restore a NETGEAR Range Extender:

You can create a backup file of your current WiFi extender settings using Backup Settings. All of the extender's configuration parameters, such as WiFi settings, passwords, and access schedules, will be saved in the backup file.

If the extender has been restored to factory default settings, the backup file saved on your PC can be used to restore your settings. Here’s How you can backup and restore a NETGEAR range extender.

To Save Your Settings, Follow These Steps:

Step 1: In a web browser, type http://www.mywifiext.net in the address bar to access the NETGEAR genie of your extender.

Step 2: When asked for a username and password, enter the email address and password you used to set up your extender.

Step 3: Click Settings on the left side of the NETGEAR genie page, then Other to see the Other Settings page.

Step 4: Click the BACKUP button on the Other Settings page to store the current settings of your extender to your computer.

To Restore the Settings:

Step 1: Go to the same Other Settings page and click Browse under Restore to restore the extender settings from a backup file saved on your computer.

Step 2: Select the backup file by navigating to the directory where it was saved.

Step 3: To restore the settings, click the RESTORE option.

Step 4: On the extender's restoration confirmation screen, select Yes.

Step 5: The backup file will be uploaded, and the extender will be restarted.
